The role of teacher-student communication styles in controlling the behavior of elementary school students

Abstract

Background and Objectives : The aim of the current research was to investigate the role and impact of positive teacher-student communication styles in controlling bullying in elementary school students of Natanz city. Methods: 132 people were selected by simple random sampling method. The data collection tool was Lori's teacher-student interaction questionnaire and Elweus's bullying questionnaire. To ensure the normality of the data, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used and to analyze the data. Friedman and Pearson correlation coefficient tests were used. Findings: The findings indicate that among the dimensions of teachers' direct communication style variables, responsibility and freedom have the highest correlation, followed by leadership, help and understanding with bullying.. Conclusion: The obtained results showed that the positive communication style of teachers has an effect on the reduction of bullying among male and female high school students of the city, and the component of responsibility and freedom had the greatest impact on reducing bullying among male and female high school students.
