Abstract
The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the innovation of art curricula in elementary education. This research has been applied in a qualitative way. The research community was experts and art education teachers and faculty members of Farhangian University, who were selected by purposive sampling. Research data was collected through semi-structured interviews. Qualitative findings were analyzed based on topic and categorization. According to the results of the research, the most important concepts of the curriculum are: a set of all formal learning opportunities, the relative concept of the curriculum. Moreover, the most important distinguishing features of art curricula with other disciplines are: more emphasis on practical activities instead of theoretical topics, the role of art curricula in psychological development and the most important concepts of curriculum innovation are: fundamental changes in the process of curriculum planning, creation of a new approach in curriculum creation and the most important examples Curriculum innovation in art education includes: updating general specifications, goals, methods, etc.
