Explaining Strategies for Improving the Teaching-Learning Process in Rural Schools of Ilam Province

Abstract

Expanding teachers’ understanding and recognition of strategies for improving teaching and learning in schools can help to optimally manage this process. In this regard, the present study was conducted with the aim of identifying strategies for improving the teaching-learning process in rural schools in Ilam province by using of the Delphi technique. The Delphi panel members (participants) in this study were 20 rural elementary school teachers in Ilam province who were selected bu using of snowball sampling to conduct the research. In this study, after three rounds, a consensus was reached on the strategies for improving the teaching-learning process in rural elementary schools in Ilam province. Each round lasted about 10 days and the entire study lasted about a month. The main research tool in the first round of the Delphi study was a questionnaire with open-ended questions, and in the second and third rounds, a questionnaire with closed and open-ended questions. In all rounds, the research questionnaire was sent to the panel members in person or via e-mail. Data analysis was performed using conventional content analysis techniques and SPSSwin27 software. The result of the three rounds of Delphi study was the identification of 27 implementation strategies for improving the teaching-learning process in rural elementary schools in Ilam province from the perspective of rural teachers. The results of this study can have appropriate achievements for the country's educational system policymakers, school administrators, and teachers, and help them in applying active teaching methods in the educational system and, consequently, in effective learning for learners.
